After sadly losing her brother, Danny, Ella Yeowell and her cousin Alice Langton succesfully completed the Vitality British 10K London Run, raising money for the Kent Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance in his memory.
"On 4th October 2013, our world was turned upside down when Danny was involved in a tragic accident at work. He was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital by the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance, after receiving treatment for his injuries. They did everything they could to give Danny the best chance of survival, and if it wasn't for them we would not have had the next four days in hospital with him, which I will cherish forever.
After seeing that the air ambulance were involved in the London 10k, my cousin Alice and I decided to sign up - I had never done anything like this before so I started training and managed to complete the 10k. It was a brilliant atmosphere and we are so happy to have raised nearly £800.
I feel that the charity is very close to my heart now as they were so amazing to my brother and have been very supportive to me and my family.
Everyone who knew Danny are eternally grateful for what the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance did for him, and all the fundraising we do in memory of Danny goes to the charity. The only way they can continue their work is through fundraising and donations so every penny makes a difference. I am now a volunteer for the charity and help out whenever I can."
We are so grateful to Ella, Alice and the rest of their family for their continued support. If you would like to support their fundraising efforts, visit their JustGiving page here.
