Shoppers in Broadstairs raised more than £1,000 for the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance in a raffle to win a car, which will be drawn next week (Friday, March 31st).

Staff and volunteers for the life-saving charity sold tickets for the Win a Mini Draw at Westwood Cross Shopping Centre earlier this month (10th and 11th March).

A grand total of £1,261.58 was raised in ticket sales and donations for the charity which relies almost entirely on public support to keep it flying.

James Cook, Head of Lotteries & Gaming, said: “We are extremely grateful to Westwood Cross Shopping Centre for helping us to raise awareness of the charity, and to the public for their fantastic support.”

Tickets for the Win a Mini Draw cost £5 each and can be purchased online at www.raffle.me.uk with the draw taking place on March 31st, 2017, making it the perfect prize for the summer months.

The £19,000 convertible Mini Cooper, a brand new model, boasts tyre pressure monitoring, a Thatcham 1 alarm system, ISOFIX child seat system, on-board computer, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth hands free function, USB audio, reversing camera and parking distance sensors.
