Ex-patient fundraises the cost of a mission

An ex-patient was reunited with the doctor and paramedic team who helped to save his life when he presented them with a cheque for £2,500 at our Redhill base.

Chris Sole, who has since become a volunteer for the charity, was cycling home when he was involved in a collision with a car. Chris suffered multiple injuries and received emergency medical treatment from HEMS Doctor, Magnus Nelson and HEMS Paramedic, David Wright.

Chris said: “Each flight costs about £2,500 so I wanted to donate the cost of a flight as my way of saying thank you to them for saving my life.”
